A complete fall protection collection is based on the "ABCDs" and can include: 
  • A - Anchorage: 
    A secure, load-bearing point to which the fall arrest system attaches. 
  • B - Body Harness: 
    A full-body harness that distributes fall forces over the strongest parts of the body. 
  • C - Connectors: 
    Devices like lanyards, lifelines, and self-retracting devices that link the harness to the anchorage. 
  • D - Descent/Rescue: 
    A plan and equipment (like disent or rescue devices) to safely retrieve a worker after a fall.

    The primary goal is to eliminate or prevent fall hazards altogether. 
  • Risk Control: 
    If hazards cannot be eliminated, systems are used to control the risk of falls. 
  • Worker Safety: 
    To protect workers from falling from elevated positions by providing an effective fall prevention or arrest method.
    Regulatory Compliance: 
    To meet safety standards set by organizations like OSHA, ensuring a safe working environment.
